Learning Skateboard Tricks

It was now a number of years ago that I had my first skateboard, more than I care to remember actually. My board was expensive at the time, there was no online access to buy cheap skateboards.
Now it is very different, you can get cheap skateboards from any number of places for great prices. What I remember is that it looked amazing, cool graphics and an amazing set of trucks. But I was so worried about scratching it that I was loathe to try tricks. After a while I got over this and realized it was to be used and abused and that wear and tear showed that I actually used it.
Once I got over this I found just how to learn new tricks. It is practice and more practice. This is at the heart of learning new skateboarding tricks. It is tough when you first try to ollie and jump up a curb and you will fail countless times. The secret is to simply keep on practicing until you get it right. One day it will simply happen.
You will just get it and the trick will be mastered. This really is the most important part of learning any new trick, it is to just attempt it over and over again. You can practice for hours and hours and this is what it is all about. It is the sense of satisfaction that you get once you learn to do a 360 turn or any other trick. They may not make you a pro but it feels great to get a few of the basics under your belt and then take it from there. There is no doubt that the more you learn the more inclined you are to learn newer and harder tricks as you gain in confidence each time. Time to dig out the board I think, you are never to old for a skateboard.
